[Music News] Kendrick Lamar Explains Reasoning Behind Album Cover

Above is the interesting album artwork that accompanies Kendrick Lamar‘s highly anticipated upcoming debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city due out October 22.

The photograph features baby Kendrick sitting on his uncles lap, who also is throwing up a gang sign. His grandfather sits to the right, and his other uncle sits to the left. A picture of Kendrick and his father hang above them. The table their sitting at holds both a 40-ounce, and a baby bottle.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

“That photo says so much about my life and how I was raised in Compton, and the things I’ve seen just through them innocent eyes,” he said. “You don’t see nobody else’s eyes, but you see my eyes of innocence and trying to figure out what is going on.” Kendrick stated in a recent video interview with FUSE.
