Man Shoots Up Movie Theater During Dark Knight Rises!!
When you think the world couldn’t get any crazier, something happens that makes you just shake your head.
24 year old James Holmes from Aurora, Colorado walked into a local movie theater last night during the midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises,” and opened fire on a theater full of people.
According to police, the gunman was wearing a bulletproof vest, riot helmet, and a gas mask. He also had a pistol, rifle, shotgun, and an AR-15 with him as well.
He walked into the theater through an emergency exit, tossed some tear gas and just began shooting people at random, injuring at least 50 people.
Police arrested Holmes in the parking lot, who had colored his hair red and claimed he was The Joker.
The gunman was a former student at Colorado University Medical School, and withdrew last month.
NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the police department will be conducting their own precautions after the incident.
“As a precaution against copycats and to raise the comfort levels among movie patrons in the wake of the horrendous shooting in Colorado, the New York City Police Department is providing coverage at theaters where the ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is playing in the five boroughs.”
President Obama also released a statement to the public by saying,
“Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado.”
